Getting Started
1 Access the Tool
Open the invoice system in your web browser using this link: https://mywebthoughts.neocities.org/Invoice.html/TaxfreeInvoice. The tool will load completely in your browser - no installation required.
2 Set Up Your Company Information
Navigate to the Invoice Generator section and enter your company details:
- Company Name
- Company Address
- Contact Information
- Upload your company logo (optional)
This information will appear on all your invoices.
3 Add Your Inventory
Go to the Stock Management section to add your products or services:
- Item Code
- HSN/SAC Code
- Description
- Price
- Unit of Measurement
- Initial Quantity
This allows for quick selection when creating invoices and automatic stock tracking.
Creating Your First Invoice
Step 1: Enter Customer Details
In the Invoice Generator section, fill in the "Bill To" information:
- Client Contact Number - Start typing and the system will suggest existing customers
- Client Name, Email, and Address - These will auto-populate if the customer exists in your database
Step 2: Set Invoice Details
Fill in the invoice-specific information:
- Invoice Number - Automatically generated but can be customized
- Invoice Date - Defaults to current date
Step 3: Add Items
Add the products or services being invoiced:
- Click "Add Item" to add more rows
- Start typing an item code and select from the dropdown
- Description, quantity, and rate will auto-fill
- Set discount type (percentage or amount) and value
- Total is calculated automatically
- Use the "Browse Items" button to view your entire inventory
Step 4: Set Payment Details
Enter the tendered cash amount - change due will be calculated automatically.
Step 5: Generate and Save
Click "Generate Invoice" to preview, then "Save Invoice" to store it in your system. The invoice will be saved to your browser's local storage.

Access all your saved invoices by clicking the "📋 Invoice History" button in the navigation menu. This section provides complete management of your invoice records.

How to Edit an Invoice
- Go to Invoice History section
- Click the "✏️ Edit" button next to the invoice you want to modify
- The invoice data loads into the invoice generator form
- Make your changes (items, prices, customer details, etc.)
- Click "Save Invoice" to update the existing invoice
- Or click "Generate Invoice" to create a new version
How to Duplicate/Recreate an Invoice
- Go to Invoice History section
- Click the "📋 Duplicate" button next to the invoice
- The system creates a copy with a new invoice number
- Modify any details as needed
- Save the new invoice
- Perfect for repeat customers or similar orders
How to Delete Invoices
- Go to Invoice History section
- Click the "🗑️ Delete" button next to any invoice
- Confirm the deletion when prompted
- For bulk deletion: check multiple invoices and click "Delete Selected"

2 Create Backup File
Click the "Create Backup File" button. The system will:

- Automatically download the file to your device
- Create a persistent download link on the page
3 Save Your Backup
After download:
- Save the backup file to a secure location (cloud storage, external drive)
- Use the "Preview Data" button to verify backup contents

How to Restore from Backup
1 Select Backup File
In the Backup & Restore section, click "Choose File" and select your backup JSON file
2 Review Restoration Details
The system will display what will be restored:
- Number of inventory items, customers, and invoices

- Any logo or settings that will be restored
3 Confirm Restoration
Click "Restore From File" and confirm the action. The system will:
- Replace all current data with the backup data
